The best

It is not the first time I ask my friends some questions.
Some of my friends tell me they keep finding the best person for themselves.
I saw one of my friends keep changing partners in his relationship. I wonder when he will be able to find the best one.
How do you know what kind of persons is the best?
This moment you think someone is the best, but it is not sure the next moment you will keep thinking that person is the best.
And do you think you are the best to someone either?
I think our mind keep changing with time, place, and different stage of our life.
The world is full of much distraction. Will it be a non-stop journey of finding the best person? Or during the life journey, you finally figure out the best one comes from the previous relationship but you cannot go back to the past.
It is difficult for me to understand what “the best” means…
Maybe time will let me know…

Silent midnight

I like this old song played by saxophone.
Listening to this song at the silent midnight.

The reality

The journey of life is full of challenges. The reality of life hits us hard. What I’ve learnt is that before you take any actions, think about the consequences. I know I learnt a lesson today. Besides following the feeling, being sensible is important. Before getting hurt, being sensible can avoid deeper hurt of feeling.
Again, it’s time to go to somewhere else.

A dream last night

I am tired of thinking about the future.
Thinking, discussing and arguing,
I did a lot of these with you many times.
Finally, we failed.
My decision is right.
You are going to have better future.
That’s not you said you were going to be alone.
You won’t be alone.

I am tired of thinking about the future.
I had a dream last night.
I kept saying goodbye to someone I known.
Then I kept walking downstairs in a building.
Though I didn’t know where I was going to.

I just want to be happy at this moment,
if I can be happy at this moment.
I’m tired, tired of thinking.

Move On

ABBA Move On

They say a restless body can hide a peaceful soul
A voyager and a settler, they both have a distant goal
If I explore the heavens, or if I search inside
Well, it really doesn't matter as long as I can tell myself
I've always tried.

Like a roller in the ocean, life is motion
Move on
Like a wind that's always blowing, life is flowing
Move on
Like the sunrise in the morning, life is dawning
Move on
How I treasure every minute
Being part of it, being in it
With the urge to move on

I've travelled every country, I've travelled in my mind
It seems we're on a journey, a trip through space and time
And somewhere lies the answer
To all the questions why
What really makes the difference
Between all dead and living things, the will to stay alive

Like a roller in the ocean
Life is motion
Move on
Like a wind that's always blowing
Life is flowing
Move on
Like the sunrise in the morning
Life is dawning
Move on
How I treasure every minute
Being part of it
Being in it
With the urge to move on

March & April 2010

Back from sorrow,

March
I met a new group of friends and did a cycling trip from Tung Chung town to Disneyland and Inspiration Lake. It is a long route, definitely not a family track, in my opinions. It is a great route you can appreciate the coastline of Lantau Island while you do the cycling. However, sometimes you need to cycle on the highways and it is a bit dangerous. With blue sky, blue ocean and great exercise, it was a perfect day for me.

April
I attended an advanced acupuncture training course for 2 weeks in Beijing. I did learn some new knowledge there. I could see a bit difference of the skills used by the northern part of acupuncturists in mainland China. I am not going to explain the detailed Chinese Medicine theories, very complicated to explain it in English (I’m lazy to translate it in Eng…). Something happened that I felt annoyed by a classmate, unluckily, came from HK. How hey annoyed me was that he kept explaining how useless or week the role of Chinese medicine took. At the beginning, I kept patient and discussed about the strength and the weakness with him. Finally, I figured out this guy was a bit arrogant and the worst thing was that why I had to have lunch with this guy at the first week!
「道不同不相為謀」 “Don't attempt to work with people whose way is not your way.” Analects of Confucius

Before the program would have finished soon, my Beijing friend was able to meet up with me finally. He was always busy in Beijing. He took me to the Japanese restaurant he manages there. I visited his restaurant a few times during my stay in Beijing. I took pic of my lunch set, made the photo as a mini postcard later in HK, then sent it back to Beijing. I’m glad he liked it very much. He also took me to Sequoia café which they provide good quality of coffee and what impressed me is that I never forgot the café in香山區. It is very beautiful and relaxing! I hope I can go there again so that I can see the maple leaves in Autumn.
The strangest thing I did in Beijing is that I accepted the invitation from my Huangzhou classmate to join a one-day local tour. Actually I really don’t recommend to do local trip in Beijing city, but my classmate hoped me to join her travel together before she went back to Huangzhou after the program finished. Ok…that’s why I joined and it costs RMB50 each person. You see…RMB 50 they emphasized they would take tourists to see the Great Wall, Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties(明十三陵), Bird’s Nest…those facilities for the Olympic games and free lunch.

Here are the problems….First, after the Great Wall visit, I started to know that I joined a Black Market local tour. The tour guide started to keep telling us that how bad luck brought to us if we visited the Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. =.= The coach stopped at the entrance and nobody got off the coach! It’s pretty weird how Chinese people believe such kind of silly rumors! It is understandable because most of these tourists came from rural areas or small towns in mainland China. Sometimes I really hate those awful citizens/companies who tried to cheat these innocent people…then they started bringing us to visit lots of souvenir shops. Finally the tour brought us to a building with the decoration looked like a night club….=.= yes…that was the final stop and I began to be nervous (I can say I’d been already brave enough..). The tour included families and it seemed they were accustomed to this kind of selling skills. I really felt uncomfortable because I didn’t know where I was, the stuffs looked like gang and the place looked like a night club. I knew I was stupid to join this tour. It is embarrassing for me to tell my friends about this story.

Time flied and I had to go back to Hong Kong. I bought air ticket to Shenzhen at 6pm and it should be 3-hour flight. One important thing I’d never known before is that China Southern Airlines always delay their flight! I was stupid again that I bought ticket to Shenzhen instead of HK! I supposed to arrive Shenzhen at 9pm then I could take shuttle bus to the cross border and back home directly by train. Flight delay made me arrive at Shenzhen airport at 12 midnight! No shuttle bus available! I had to take taxi to Huanggang(皇崗) cross border. This cross border is terrible than any other cross borders! Then I had to take green mini bus back to Shatin and then took a taxi again back home at 2am!! Many drunk people on the min bus. So disgusting….I know I was STUPID that time…

Will keep update soon.

Will update soon

It’s been a long time for me not updating this blog. Sorry for my poor English and I need extra time & energy to write English passages. Since I have got some English speaking friends, they might want to know what I think. And I know some of my friends are learning Chinese and start writing or typing Chinese. These reasons motivate me to update my blog again. Haha….
Will update soon, I promise, though I don’t know who are interested in reading my passages. :P

Blood Pressure Drugs

Once again I met a patient who took anti-hypertension drugs daily causing a sudden drop in blood pressure to 110/45mmHg today and she felt faint. Isn’t it ridiculous that anti-hypertension drugs are commonly used to prevent from stroke but it actually raises the risk of resulting in a stroke?

Common side effects of anti-hypertension drug include insomnia, tiredness, depression, cold hands and feet, a slow heartbeat, palpitations (feeling your heart beating in your chest), swollen ankles, constipation, headache or dizziness. Impotence may be a problem for some men.

From my perspective, the above symptoms of these side effects are the traditional appearances of “yang qi deficiency”. You can simply understand the theory as a loss of basic body energy in such condition.

What can I say? I always advise my patients to think twice about the side effects before taking anti-hypertension drugs for their whole lifespan.

Read the following passage if you want to briefly know how the drugs do something to our body. (…though advertising purpose in the treatment part)

2009 Kenting Trip Day 3

Kenting Trip
2009.10.1
Day3

Waking up in the morning, I stood on the balcony admiring the ocean. Today we need to check out and had to say goodbye to Nixon Head. Maybe we were there in the off peak season in Kenting. Many restaurants weren’t opened in the morning. We chose a bar restaurant to have our breakfast, though it wasn’t my cup of tea.

We drove to the southernmost point of Taiwan (台灣最南點). There was a 500 metre walk on the footpath before we could see a monument located there. Some of us thought it was a long walk. LOL. Obviously, you would think like this when it was too hot. It is interesting to know that the southernmost point is bordered on three sides by water, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Bashi Channel to the south, and the Taiwan Strait to the west.

2009 Kenting Trip Day 2

Kenting Trip
2009.9.30
Day 2:

Today was mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Luckily when I woke up the next morning, I could clearly see a rainbow from the window. The scenery is beautiful. I hope time can stop at that moment.

We drove to Nanwan (南灣) and stopped at a local breakfast stall. It was recommended by the backpackers from travel forum. Sandwiches and omelettes were yummy. There are different types of omelettes and sandwiches you can choose. I seldom have chance to eat such different style of breakfast in Hong Kong. I like it!

2009 Kenting Trip Day 1

Kenting Trip
2009 9.29
Day 1:
It was a heavy rainy day in the morning when we headed to the Hong Kong airport by taxi. Six of us, included me took the flight to Kaohshiung (高雄) using Mandarin Airlines. Most of the passengers seemed to be Taiwanese.

When we got off the Kaoshiung airport, it was small and quiet. No salespeople appeared to sell their services to tourists like us. I think because most HK people prefer using Dragon airlines.

After having done the exchange currency, we rent a 8-Person Van which was booked in advance and started our journey to Kenting (墾丁). It was told that the best way of travelling within Kenting was using your own transport.

I was dying to...

Quoted by Old wisdom:

“First I was dying to finish high school and start college.
And then, I was dying to finish college and start working.
And then, I was dying to marry and have children.
And then, I was dying for my children to grow old enough for school so I could return to work.
And then, I was dying to retire.
And now, I am dying...... And suddenly realized, I forgot to live…
To make money, we lose our health. And then to restore our health, we lose our money”

Particularly the last sentence, I can’t agree more. That’s why I decide to learn Chinese Medicine.

Sai Kung dinner

Yesterday, after the ceramic course, I met Pierre and Connie at Hang Hau MTR Station and we took 101M minibus to Sai Kung Town. We suggested going there ‘coz Connie told me she hadn’t been to Sai Kung before.

After arriving at Sai Kung Town, we took a stroll along the Sai Kung Promenade. It may take an hour if strolling. We just took short distance walking and saw fishermen selling their catches at the pier.

7B gathering

30th Jan, I went back to my secondary school to join the 7B gathering. We decided to have a barbecue at school in our original plan and then most of us changed our mind and finally decided to dine out.

First of all, since we hadn't been to our school for many years, we'd taken some photos together. There were always good memories in my school life.
